And while some review platforms look down on soliciting feedback from customers, Google actually encourages it. You could even say they make it easy.

Google allows you to generate a special URL, unique to your business, that takes your customers directly to your review page. 

However, before you get ready to start receiving those stellar Google reviews from your customers, there are a few things to get in order.

Verifying Your Business With Google

Google verification helps you to maintain consistency across Google for your business and ensure that there are no false representatives posing on behalf of your business. Follow the steps below to get verified and ready for customers to find you. The verification process is crucial to be able to manage information across Google properties. In other words, if you were considering skipping it, think again!

Step 1: You’ll first need to create a Google My Business account here. If you’ve already done this, be sure to verify that all information is accurate.

Step 2: If all of the information is correct, click Mail at the top of this page. Google will then send a postcard to your business address to verify the information is correct.

Step 3: Once you receive your postcard, sign in to your Google My Business account. Click Verify Now under Verification Needed. You will be directed to enter the code found on your postcard.

It can take up to a few weeks for your business to be live on Google, but you are now free to actively manage your account. Now, you’ll be able to receive Google Reviews, a step towards greater online visibility.
